What a year!

As I sit down to write about our year, all I can think about is how thankful I am for everyone who has supported me and everything that has happened this year at Fisher Creek Candles. We truly do have some of the best customers out there! Hearing that someone loves our candles is the best compliment that we can receive!

This was the first full year that Fisher Creek Candles has operated solely from our own website. And the response was amazing! We have received and shipped orders to 3 countries, over 15 states, and to well over 300 customers. This is huge considering that all of our candles are made by myself in my home kitchen. I pride myself in the fact that I personally make every candle and each one must meet my strict guidelines before they go out to our customers. And all of the feedback that I have received has been so positive!

Our customers are the heart and soul of our business. As I said before we have some of the best customers. Word of mouth is one of the best referrals we can get. That is why we initiated our own Loyalty Points Program this year to reward our customers for things that they already are doing. We hope that in 2015 everyone takes full advantage of this program to earn as much free candles as you can.

This year we opened Fisher Creek Candles up to some retailers. We have our candles in Finders Keepers Village in Heath, Ohio and Outer Limitz in Zanesville, Ohio. They have been a huge success at both locations. We love to work with other small businesses. When you buy items or services from a small business you are helping someone fulfill their dreams and grow their business. And I want to thank everyone who has shopped small this year.

We also did 3 fundraisers this year for various small groups. We are pleased to say that these small groups were able to raise funds for their various needs and programs. In total we helped them raise over $1000.

In addition to all of the items listed above, we have partnered with our own Independent Candle Consultants to give them and opportunity to own and run their own business. We have one consultant who signed up in January 2014. Her name is Amy and she has been such a huge help to me that I really don't think that I would have had such a good year without her. I give her as much support as I can and she has even been able to give me support this year. We always have room for more Independent Candle Consultants to join the Fisher Creek Candles family and if you are interested please email me at

Last, but certainly not least, I have to thank my family. I have a wonderful family who have given me the love and support that I needed to really let this business grow to what it is now and hopefully will continue to grow. My husband is my best friend and has been a major supporter in this business. Although he doesn't make the candles, he does put up with all of the mess that they make and doesn't get mad when they take over the kitchen and dining room. He is the best.

Looking into 2015 I see some changes coming to Fisher Creek Candles. All of the changes are exciting and are going to help make our candles the best ones available. Please understand that we are NOT changing the way we make our candles. We are still committed to providing you with the highest quality handmade candles and that will never change.

Thank you for all of your business and support. Please feel free to leave a comment below with any questions, thoughts, or comments.

  • Your candles are the best! I have switched from a major candle maker to yours. The scents are so refreshing. My house smells wonderful when burning your products. God bless you in the coming year!

  • Really enjoy your (as I all them, cake) candles. I love the way you can order any scent with any color. I had them all going recently when the electric went out for 9 hours in our area. Keep up the good work Sarah!

  • I am so excited for you Sarah and so proud of you! Best wishes for all of life’s richest blessings in the new year! When you are ready to outgrow your kitchen, you should appear on “Shark Tank” – they would love your “story”! Reminds me of when Gail Pittman would talk about making her pottery bowls at her kitchen table before she joined Southern Living at HOME/Willow House. Sending hugs to you and your family!
